Purse-snatching in Pikeville

Pikeville police are investigating a robbery that took place Thursday at the Food Lion.
Around 6 p.m. Thursday, 69-year-old woman was loading groceries in her car when a small dark gray car, believed to be a Lexus, pulled into the parking lot in the space beside her. A suspect, described as a black man with a heavy build, jumped out of the vehicle, pushed the woman down, snatched a pocketbook from her shoulder and drove off.
Anyone with information about the robbery was asked to call the Pikeville Police Department.
