Rotary clubs will welcome six Danish visitors

Six Danish Rotarians will make Goldsboro their first stop on a tour of North Carolina later this month.
They are part of a Rotary International program, Group Study Exchange. Coordinator Phil Baddour said they are here to learn about North Carolina, the United States and American communities and culture.
He added that Wayne County Rotarians also hope to get a little insight into Danish culture as well during the visit.
"Rotary has a long and deep commitment to promote good international relations," Baddour said. And one way it does this is through its group exchange study.
The Danish group will arrive here Saturday and stay with local Rotary host families. After a short rest from their long trip, they will tour various spots in the county including the sewage treatment facility, wetlands and composting facility. They will meet with Mayor Al King and take a walking tour of historic downtown Goldsboro.
The group will tour the Wayne County courthouse and attend a court session. The members also are scheduled to meet with county Commissioner Atlas Price, District Attorney Branny Vickory and Judge Joe Setzer.
Also on the agenda is a tour of the Wayne County Public Library, the Goldsboro News-Argus and Seymour Johnson Air Force Base.
They will use one day to visit the towns of Fremont and Mount Olive.
The Danish Rotarians will have lunch with local Rotary clubs March 28 and make a presentation on their country.
They are scheduled to leave for Tarboro the afternoon of March 29.
The Danish Rotary group is being hosted by the Goldsboro, Three Eagles, Fremont and Mount Olive Rotary Clubs.
