Goldsboro City Council will hold their first meeting of the month Monday at City Hall. Their agenda for the evening contains more than 20 items, including one matter scheduled for public hearing.

During the hearing, council will allow public comment regarding a contiguous annexation request for Mimosa Park west. The potential annexation involves more than 6 acres, located on the east side of New Hope Road, between Cuyler Best Road and Shelley Drive.

Other items on the agenda include a recommendation by the Inspection's Department to condemn three dilapidated dwellings and a number of rezoning requests.

The homes up for condemnation -- 407 W. Holly St., 603 Stronach Ave., and 213 E. Dewey St. -- have run through the three-phase minimum housing process, that begins with a code violation and can end in demolition.

At the end of the meeting, as is theirpolicy, councilmen will open the floor for public comment. Any resident wishing to forward and address and issue with city leaders will be given time to speak.
