More candidates file to run in May

Two more candidates have filed for public office in Wayne and Duplin counties.
Wayne County Board of Education member George Moye filed this morning for re-election to his District 5 seat. Moye is seeking a sixth term in office.
In Duplin, Republican Harold Raynor filed to run for the District 3 seat on the Board of County Commissioners. Raynor resigned from the county Board of Elections in order to be eligible to seek the office.
The filing period ends Tuesday at noon.
The primary election will be held May 2. The general election will be held Nov. 7.
In Wayne, these offices are up for election: sheriff, district attorney, District Court judge, Superior Court judge, clerk of court, school board seats representing districts 1, 4, 5 and 6, state House seats 10, 11 and 21 and Senate seats 5 and 12.
In Duplin, these offices are up for election: sheriff, district attorney, clerk of court, county commissioner seats 2 and 3, school board seats 2, 3 and 4, District Court judge, state House District 4, state Senate District 10,
Also, Wayne and Duplin residents can file for congressionals seats 1, 3 and 7, state Supreme Court justice and state Court of Appeals judge.
