The Goldsboro City Council will meet Monday at 7 p.m. in the council chambers on the second floor of City Hall, following a 5 p.m. work session in the city manager's conference room.

On the agenda will be five public hearings.

They involve the changing of the name of Wayne Avenue Extension to J.B. Rhodes Avenue, the rezoning of property on the south side of Elm Street between Poplar Street and Creech Street from residential to neighborhood business, the rezoning of property on the north side of Belfast Road between U.S. 117 and North William Street from residential to general business, the rezoning of property on the west side of Wayne Memorial Drive between New Hope Road and Tommy's Road from residential to office and institutional, and the rezoning of property on the north side of Hooks River Road between Elton Drive and U.S. 117 bypass from office and institutional to general business.

Also, council members will consider a request by Goldsboro Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep regarding the city's sign ordinance and a request for a temporary construction easement at the Bryan Boulevard Bridge.

Council members will hear public comments at the end of the meeting.
