WARSAW -- No foul play is suspected in a Tuesday morning apartment fire that took the life of a Warsaw man.
Warsaw police officials said neighbors and the apartment manager tried unsuccessfully to rescue Kenneth Malcolm Holloman when they learned his unit at Quail Hollow Apartments was on fire.
Police Capt. Jerry Wood said there are no estimates yet from contractors as to the amount of damage. But he said the apartment was totally destroyed, and some minor damage resulted from the blaze in an adjoining apartment. He said his guess would be the damage came to about $50,000.
"At this time there is no foul play suspected," he said.
He said he expects to hear a ruling on the cause of the fire by the middle of next week.
