A Pikeville resident was treated for injuries this morning after her car was involved in an accident with a vehicle near the corner of Stoney Creek Church Road and N.C. 111 north, Highway Patrol Trooper Mike Conley said. Gail Flemming, 66, was rounding the turn when her car struck the trailer of a truck that had run out of gas and pulled into a convenience store. The truck's owner, Willie Burgess, 31, of Tarboro, was cited for impeding traffic. Mrs. Flemming was taken to Wayne Memorial Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
