MOUNT OLIVE -- Mount Olive College will host its fourth annual International Showfest on Tuesday, Feb. 21. To be held in the Lois K. Murphy Regional Center at 7:30 p.m., the event is sponsored by the Mount Olive College International Club.
Twenty-four students representing 14 countries will have table displays with information on their homelands and their cultures as well as samples of authentic foods from around the world.
The showfest is a chance to taste, experience and appreciate cultural differences, as well as an opportunity for the college's international students to showcase their home countries and share their customs, said Julie Beck, director of student activities at MOC and event coordinator.
"The International Club enjoys hosting this event for the students and the Mount Olive community so that others can not only learn about other lifestyles and traditions but also experience them," she said.
The event is free and the public is invited to attend. For more information, contact Ms. Beck at 919-658-2502.
