Suspect in Newton Grover murder extradited from S.C.

A man was extradited Wednesday from South Carolina by officers of the Sampson County Sheriff's Office to face charges in connection with the rape and murder of an 83-year-old woman.
Christopher Levon Terry, 42, of N. McKay Avenue in Dunn, was taken from Summerville S.C. and placed in the Sampson County Jail without bond.
Terry was charged with the Dec. 31 murder of Alice West McNair of 1455 Oak Grove Church Road in Newton Grove.
He also was charged with first-degree rape, breaking and entering, larceny of a motor vehicle and possession of stolen goods.
His first court appearance will be Jan. 13.
