Eureka's annual Christmas parade will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. Entries will line up, starting at 2 p.m. on Davis Street.
The parade route will go down Church Street, West Main, back onto Church Street, and East Main Street. The parade will end at the cemetery.
The town is expecting more than 50 entries, including bands from Charles B. Aycock High School and Norwayne Middle School.
"We're going to have some beauty queens, we're going to have some little dogs and we'll have clowns and cartoon characters," said Reta Chase, town clerk.
Longtime parade organizers Jimmy and Faye Wise will serve as Grand Marshals in this year's parade.
In lieu of an entry fee, the town will be collecting canned goods from parade entrants.
"We're going to make boxes for needy families at Christmas," Mrs. Chase said. Spectators are invited to contribute as well. There is still time to sign up. Interested particpants should call Town Hall at 242-5064, or organizers at 242-5986, 242-3146, or 242-4411.
