Applications for energy assistance being taken

The Wayne County Department of Social Services is taking applications for the Low-Income Energy Assistance Program.
Applications can be made at the county Department of Social Services office at 301 N. Herman St., from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. through Nov. 18.
Applications can aslo be made Nov. 15 at the Fremont Town Hall or Nov. 17 at the Wages Nutrition office at 711 N. Center St. in Mount Olive.
Applicants must have verification of income during October.
