Drug raid
An investigation conducted by the Goldsboro/ Wayne County Drug Squad resulted in the arrests of Dearron J. Lewis, 31, and Detoya Quinte Lewis, 28, at a residence on Mill Street in Fremont. Both were charged with possession with the intent to sell and deliver cocaine, possession with the intent to sell and deliver marijuana, and maintaining a dwelling to sell controlled substances. Bond for both was set at $100,000.
Child abuse
Charlotte Frederick Wilson, 33, of Indian Springs Road, Dudley, was arrested and charged by Wayne County Sheriff's officers with felony child abuse inflicting serious injury. The child received treatment and was released to Department of Social Services protective custody. Bond was set at $25,000.
Rim ring
As a result of a Wayne County Sheriff's office investigation, James Michael Adams, 24, of James Adams Lane, Mount Olive, and Daniel Lee Lewis, 34, of Casey Mill Road, Dudley, were arrested and charged with felony larceny. According to reports, as employees of Young's Auto Salvage, Lewis and Adams stole approximately 250 car rims, loading them into Adams' car and driving to a nearby salvage yard to sell for scrap metal. Total value of the rims was estimated at $18,750. No rims were recovered.
Missing
Laura Lynette Lucas, 27, of Stanley Chapel Church Road in Mount Olive was reported as missing by Eric Jason Potter, 30, of the home. Potter told deputies that he and Ms. Lucas had a disagreement Thursday night, and she for a walk to cool off. She is described as white, with brown hair and green eyes, and was last seen wearing a white T-shirt and jeans. Persons with information are asked to call the Wayne County Sheriff's Office at 731-1493.
Investigations
Wayne County Sheriff's deputies are investigating these reports:
*A padlock was broken and 1,500 feet of cable was missing from General Industries at 3040 Thoroughfare Road.
*Gail Paulette Cobb of S. Ridge Drive, Dudley, reported an unknown person entered her 1999 Ford Expedition while parked at her home. Missing from the vehicle were a .380 Smith & Wesson handgun and a radar detector. The missing items were valued at $400.
*Thomas Craig Poole, 49, reported over $6,400 in valuables stolen from his home on Nugget Drive in Dudley upon returning from out of town. Stolen items included jewelry, a PlayStation system and games, a DVD player and several DVDs.
*Jessie Darrin Daw, 32, of Nahunta Road, Pikeville, reported a car CD player valued at $300 stolen from his 1998 Pontiac Sunfire.
These incidents are being investigated by Goldsboro police officers:
*Mary B. Davis of The Tabernacle of Prayer For All People on John Street reported a break-in Thursday morning. Several kitchen items were missing and a door frame was broken. Damage to the door was set at $200, while missing items, including a box of beef, a microwave, and a deep-fryer, were valued at $329.
*Martin Eric Jackson of Dudley reported a break-in at his business, Jackson's Auto Repair on E. Vine Street in Goldsboro. Jackson discovered a window panel broken on a garage door, and a ShopVac, inspection stickers, computer monitor, tap and die sets, ratchet and socket sets and pneumatic impact wrenches missing. Stolen items were valued at $14,600.
*Branch Pope of the Elks Lodge at 105 E. Chestnut St. reported a door handle broken and coins removed from three poker machines. Damage to the door was set at $150, while $120 was missing from the machines.
*Tansey Lorraine Howell, 29, of S. Slocumb Street, reported an unknown entered her residence via a bedroom window and took a PlayStation Portable game system, valued at $400.
*Amy E. Garofalo, 55, of S. Andrews Avenue, told police officers an unknown black male pushed her in her driveway and took her purse upon returning from work Thursday night. The man fled on foot, according to reports. No description was given. Items in the purse had an estimated value of $615.
*A window screen was removed and a DVD player missing from the home of Deirdre Jones, 44, of Edgerton Street. Damage to the window was set at $50, and the DVD player was valued at $100. The break-in was reported Thursday evening.
Wrecks
*A man was charged and $2,200 in damage was caused in a wreck in the parking lot of Howell's Child Care on U.S. 70. Kelvin Joel Artis, 19, of N. John Street, was charged with failing to see before backing after his 2005 Dodge struck a 1998 Pontiac driven by Sandra Faye Price, 38, of S. John Street.
*Amy Hobbs Malpass, 27, of Country Club Road, Mount Olive, was charged with failure to reduce speed after her 1996 Ford collided with a 1998 Ford driven by Joseph Larry Gregory, 55, of Cricket Ridge Road, Mount Olive. The vehicles were traveling North on U.S. Highway 117. Total damage was set at $12,000.
