Investigations
Wayne County law enforcement officers are investigating the following incidents:
*Alma Rowe reported an unknown subject entered her property at S. Tiffany Road by pushing a window air conditioning unit into the building, and took a color television, valued at $50.
*Goldsboro police are investigating a shooting in the 500 block of W. Holly Street. Jeron Russell, 16, and Montrel Rodgers, 17, were riding a moped when a green Honda pulled up next to them and occupants fired several shots. Russell suffered a minor apparent gunshot wound to the left shin, but refused treatment. Russell and Rodgers told police that two black males were in the vehicle, which fled the scene.
*Anthony Lanier Phillips of E. New Hope Road reported $850 damage to his 1998 Chevrolet Blazer. Both headlights were busted, driver's side doors were scratched, front and rear driver's side tires were slashed and the center console was damaged.
*Doug W. Sasser of Windsor Drive reported a Shindaiwa blackpack blower stolen from his front porch. The blower was valued at $300.
Wrecks
*Two drivers were charged with safe movement violations after they collided while attempting left-hand turns onto William Street. Danielson Olubunmi Ajboye, 23, of Raleigh, was driving a 1999 Honda that collided with a 1994 Saturn driven by Eric Jonas, 20, of Nelson Smith Drive, Dudley. Damaget to the Honda was set at $4,000, while damage to the Saturn was $2,000.
*Jane Annette Myers, 49, of Ebenezer Church Road, was charged with driving while impaired and hit and run after she failed to yield while making a left turn on George Street, according to Goldsboro police. Myers' 1990 Chevrolet struck a 1992 Ford driven by Chares Earl Murchison of Alabama Avenue. Damage to the Ford was set at $3,000.
*Three vehicles were involved and two people were charged in a rear-end collision on William Street. Manuel Sanchez Rodriguez, 25, of Pikeville, failed to stop for traffic in a 2001 Mitsubishi and rear-ended a 1989 Mazda driven by Anna Lou Lane, 47, of Fremont, the report said. Mrs. Lane's car then hit a 2000 Chevrolet driven by Patrice Annette Fuller, 31, of Dudley. Total damage was set at $4,200.
