Hunt on for man who shot Rose Hill policeman

ROSE HILL -- The State Bureau of Investigation is looking for a man who shot a Rose Hill police officer Saturday night.
Patrol officer Mitchell Anderson was released Sunday from Pitt Memorial Hospital, where he was treated for wounds sustained during a struggle with 30-year old Tyrone David Williams.
Rose Hill Police Chief Michael O'Connell said Anderson responded to a call at 10:30 p.m. Saturday about an apparent domestic dispute in a street just outside the town limits. The man ran when he saw the officer approach. A chase ensued, then a struggle. Anderson was shot during that struggle.
A manhunt continued into the early morning hours Sunday involving Duplin and Sampson counties' sheriff deputies and the SBI
A reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of Williams, who is considered armed and extremely dangerous.

Warrants are out for Williams on charges of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, inflicting serious injury, assault with a firearm on a law enforcement officer, possession of a firearm by a felon and felonious larceny.
