After six years of study and training at the University of Tennessee and Yale University, Melinda Schuessler Harper, Ph. D. has successfully passed her state and national psychology boards and is now a licensed clinical psychologist in North Carolina. She is currently employed as an assistant professor of psychology at Queens University of Charlotte. Her future plans are to open a private practice in Char-lotte.
She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Schuessler of Goldsboro.
Central Michigan Univer-sity's 2005 graduates included Ronald K. Rawlings of Goldsboro, master of science in administration; Wilmur Z. Conyers of Goldsboro, master of science in administration; Elsie L. Hall of LaGrange, master of science in administration; and Thomas D. Houston of Mount Olive, master of arts in education.
Several local students completed the required credits for degrees and diplomas during the summer session at Pitt Community College.
Amy Louise Kirkney of Goldsboro received a degree in nuclear medicine technology; Kimberly Carter Hancock of LaGrange received a Nuclear Medicine Diploma; John Matthew Sutton of LaGrange received an associate in arts; and Brandi C. Holland of Snow Hill received a radiation therapy diploma. Ms. Kirkney and Ms. Carter are on the college's summer dean's list.
Cliff Wilson, a student at the Spring Creek High School, recently served as a page for the North Carolina House of Representatives. He spent a week at the General Assembly assisting members and their staff and learning about the structure of North Carolina government. He is the son of Michael and Melody of Goldsboro and was sponsored by Rep. Louis M. Pate Jr.
