Nikki Daniel

Air Force Airman Nikki Daniel has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.

During the six weeks of training, the airman studied the Air Force mission, organization, and military customs and courtesies; performed drill and ceremony marches, and received physical training, rifle marksmanship, field training exercises, and special training in human relations.

In addition, she earned credits toward an associate degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

She is the daughter of Renna Harlow of LaGrange, and is a 2004 graduate of Greene Central High School.

Terrance Artis

Second Class Petty Officer Terrance Demond Artis was promoted to his present rank while serving with the United States Navy in Spring Valley, Calif.

He is the son of Shirley Bizzell of Goldsboro and is a graduate of the Wayne Community College High School Program.

Jarvis Gwaltney Jr.

Seaman Apprentice Jarvis Wayne Gwaltney Jr. recently completed his eight-week Navy basic training course in Great Lakes, Ill.

Gwaltney is now stationed at Pensacola, Fla., where he is enrolled in a 22-week cryptology course.

A 2000 graduate of Charles B. Aycock High School, he is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jarvis Wayne Gwaltney of Goldsboro, the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Jarvis Lee Gwaltney and Mr. and Mrs. Dwight Butts, and the great-grandson of Isabelle Gwaltney of Goldsboro.

Bobby Benson

Air Force Airman 1st Class Bobby L. Benson has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.

During the six weeks of training, the airman studied the Air Force mission, organization, and military customs and courtesies; performed drill and ceremony marches, and revived physical training, rifle marksmanship, field training exercises, and special training in human relations.

In addition, he earned credits toward an associate degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

He is a 2004 graduate of Charles B. Aycock and the son of James and Susan Benson of Pikeville and the grandson of John and Dorothy Basden of Dudley.

Robert Madrigal

Master Sgt. Robert Madrigal recently graduated from First Sergeant Academy at Maxwell AFB in Montgomery, Ala., and has been assigned to Korea for one year.

His wife, Sherri, is from Goldsboro.
