MOUNT OLIVE -- Mount Olive College officials announced the school will open its sixth location in October.

Mount Olive College already has existing locations in Mount Olive, on Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, New Bern, Wilmington, and Research Triangle Park in Raleigh.

Dr. J. William Byrd, college president, said the institution's latest addition will be at 4525 Highway 264 West in Beaufort County.

Course offerings at the Washington location will cater to working adults with classes being offered one night a week. Bachelor's degree programs for students with some prior college experience will be offered in Management and Organizational Development, Early Childhood Education, Religion, Criminal Justice and Management of Information Systems. Also included will be the Heritage Plus program, an associate's degree program that will provide working adults, with little or no college experience, the ability to earn their college degree by attending class just one night a week and completing out of class assignments.

Enrollment for students has already started at the Washington location. The first program in Management and Organizational Development is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, Oct. 18 and Heritage Plus will start Nov. 22.

Evan Duff has been hired as the director of the Mount Olive College Washington location. Duff was occupational coordinator at Lenoir Community College and has past experience in operations management and accounting.

An alumnus of the college, Duff holds a bachelor's degree in management organizational development, a master's degree in business administration.
