Dudley Volunteer Fire Department firemen and Wayne County rescue workers responded to a single-car accident on Emmaus Church Road at about 3 a.m. today, after a car carrying two people ran off the highway and struck a tree. The driver was taken immediately to Wayne Memorial Hospital. It took rescuers about 30 minutes to free the passenger, who also was taken to the hospital. The identities of the driver and passenger were not known at presstime.
