Arts Council lists programs

The Arts Council of Wayne County will sponsor the following classes for September.
*Violin Lessons for Adults and Children.
Students register for private one half-hour lessons on Mondays or Wednesdays. Classes are offered on a monthly basis. Monday classes will be held on Sept. 12, 19 and 26 between 1 and 6 p.m. Wednesday classes will be held on Sept. 7, 14, 21 and 28 between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. The monthly fee is $60 for Monday lessons and $75 for Wednesday lessons. The instructor is Chris Ellis.
Adult Workshops and Classes
*Art Classes in the Medium of Watercolor.
Mondays, Sept. 12 through Nov. 21. Class will not meet Oct. 17 and Nov. 7. Beginners will meet from 10 a.m. until noon. Intermediate and advanced students will meet from 1 until 3 p.m. Fee is $100; a supply list will be provided. The instructor is Janet Dixon.
Children
*Painting with 4- and 5-Year-Olds.
Children paint at the easel and learn to combine shapes and colors while learning of a famous artist's style. Thursdays, Sept. 15, 22 and 29 from 1:45 until 2:30 p.m. Cost is $30. The instructor is Penny Craven.
*Painting with the Masters.
Children learn about a famous artist each week and create a painting in the style of that artist. Six- through 8-year-olds will meet Thursdays, Sept. 15, 22 and 29 from 4:30 until 5:30 p.m. Cost is $40. Nine through 11-year-olds will meet Thursdays, Sept. 15, 22 and 29 from 3:15 until 4:15 p.m. Cost is $40. The instructor is Penny Craven.
