Senior assistance provided for Medicare plan

With the Medicare Part D prescription drug plan going into effect on Jan. 1, several local agencies are combining efforts to assist seniors in Wayne County through the transition.
WAGES, Services on Aging and the Social Security Administration are working together to provide several information sessions during the coming months, with one day earmarked as a focal point. Sign-up day for the subsidy enrollment is Aug. 16 between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. at the WAGES office on Royall Avenue.
Seniors deemed eligible for assistance with the Medicare Part D premium should have already received information in the mail.
