Former Spring Creek student drowns

A former Spring Creek High School student drowned last week near his home in Hampton, Va.
Joseph "Joey" Hamilton, 18, drowned June 13 while swimming with friends at a private pond. Funeral services were held Friday.
He was the son of George and Jenny Hamilton.
He was remembered by those who knew him as friendly and outgoing.
Hamilton lived in Wayne County for several years, while he and his brothers and sisters were living with family members here.
A memorial fund to help the family with funeral expenses has been set up at Bank of America. People wishing to contribute should ask for the Joseph Hamilton Memorial Fund.
