Crop payment program signup deadline near

The Wayne County Farm Service Agency reminds growers that they have until June 1 to sign up for the Direct and Counter-cyclical Payment Program. FSA will accept late applications through Sept. 30, but a $100 late fee is required. Growers will be unable to apply for 2005 DCP payments after Sept. 30.
Producers that have initiated a DCP contract but have not obtained the necessary signatures also will have to pay the late file fee to enroll. Changes in farm operations that require the addition of other producers to a DCP contract will also be accepted after June 1, if accompanied by a $100 late fee.
