Kay Bradley elected president of state group

Kay Bradley, the campus information specialist at Wayne Community College, has been elected president of the District 12 N.C. Association of Educational Office Professionals for 2005-2006.

She has been a member of the organization for 25 years and has chaired the district scholarship and awards committees and served on many others.

At the state level, she has chaired the conference site, nominations and elections, scholarship and awards committees, as well as serving as co-coordinator of decorations twice for the state conference.

Locally, she has served on and chaired every committee and held every office.

During Ms. Bradley's term, the association's objectives will include opportunities for members to participate in professional development, to continue fund-raising for the scholarship program, and to provide a forum for interaction and exchange of information and ideas between members.

The organization has more than 2,800 members working at public schools, community colleges, institutes, colleges and universities. It promotes professionalism among educational office personnel and provision of quality service to students, educators and the community. It also assists members in effective participation in education-related public policy issues.

District 12 is composed of 11 public school systems and community colleges in Carteret, Craven, Greene, Jones, Lenoir, Onslow, Pamlico and Wayne counties.

Ms. Bradley has been employed at Wayne County Community College since 1979.

She has two sons and four grandchildren and lives in Goldsboro.
