Student selected for program

Emily Mitchell, a fourth-grade student at Northwest Elementary School, is one of 360 academically talented students who have been invited to participate in the National Young Scholars Program June 26-July 8 at James Madison University in Harrison-burg, Va.
The program provides fourth- and fifth-grade students from across the country with a stimulating environment in which to explore their potential for achievement in a variety of fields. She is the daughter of Steve and Ellen Mitchell and the grand-daughter of Nelson and Edith Mitchell and David Allen and Doris Sandlin.
