Sarah-Davis Cagle has received the Appalachian State University Outstanding Student Leader of the Year Award. This Leadership Award is presented by the ASU Club Council which represents 200 campus-wide student clubs and organizations. The 2002 graduate of Eastern Wayne High School was recognized for her work as vice president of the Appalachian Student Ambassadors. A senior biology major, Miss Cagle is the daughter of Bob and Jan Cagle of Goldsboro.
Scott Stevens recently served as a page in the North Carolina Senate. He spent a week delivering bills and amendments for senators during daily sessions, running errands and providing assistance to staff members in the Legislative Building. A student at North Duplin Junior High School, he is the son of Janie and David Stevens of Mount Olive.
Mary Covington Walker of Goldsboro received the MRA Excellence in Leadership Award during Meredith College's Academic and Leadership Awards Ceremony on April 28. A reception followed the ceremony.
Tamarcus Albert Kor-negay graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro on Saturday with a bachelor of science degree in sports medicine. He is the son of William and Glenda Kornegay of Goldsboro and is a graduate of Goldsboro High School.
