Duplin solid waste agreement gets second reading

KENANSIVLLE -- Duplin commissioners were to hear a second reading of a solid waste agreement with Waste Industries today.
Commissioners can vote on the matter after the second reading of the 10-year contract to take the county's garbage.
The agenda for the regular meeting of the Duplin County board of commissioners included the second reading at 1:45 p.m., directly after Deborah Kornegay and Frances Parks, co-chairmen of the Citizens for a Safe Environment, were expepcted to ask one more time for a county-owned landfill.
