The first units of a 264-unit apartment complex off N. Berkeley Boulevard are expected to open May 1, according to officials with the company that is developing the property.
The Legacy at Berkeley Place is being developed by Blue Ridge Property Management of Greensboro. The apartments are located on Fallin Boulevard. The complex is designed to afford residents an upscale lifestyle, said Jennifer Glass, the community manager at The Legacy.
"We have something to offer everybody," she said.
The Legacy will feature business and fitness centers, a gourmet coffee bar and a 24-seat movie theater for residents, along with a swimming pool with sun deck, an area for sand volleyball, playground and picnic and car-wash areas. Garages and storage areas can be leased separately.
One-, two- and three-bedroom apartments will be available. Three of the four floorplans feature sunrooms.
Ms. Glass said the complex will offer short-term leases -- from 3 to 12 months -- and furnished corporate leases. Kitchen appliances will be provided in all apartments. Units have washer and dryer connections, and the appliances will be available for rent if needed.
The potential for growth in the area drew Blue Ridge to Goldsboro, Ms. Glass said. "They saw that Goldsboro was growing, and there were not these types of apartments here."
She noted the nearby Berkeley Commons shopping center as an indication of economic growth in Goldsboro.
Model apartments will be available to view shortly after the first building opens, Ms. Glass said.
D & M Builders of High Point is the general contractor for the construction of the apartments.
