The train is running

Get on board and then get some cotton candy.

The miniature train and the concession stand in Herman Park are open for business again marking the true start of spring in Goldsboro.

The train and concession booth are open from 1 to 5 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday every weekend, weather permitting, through September.

The Kiwanis Club of Goldsboro has operated the train for 50 years with all proceeds going to charitable causes.

Bloodmobile

The Wayne County Chapter of the American Red Cross will hold a blood drive Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Berkeley Mall and Sunday from 1 to 5:30 p.m. at Providence United Methodist Church. Donors will receive a coupon for a free car wash.
