Robbed at knifepoint
A Stantonsburg woman said a man she does not know robbed her at knifepoint on Red Hill Road in Eureka and tried to sexually assault her.
Amy Jenette Whaley West told Wayne County Sheriff's investigators that she was driving down the road in her 1984 Nissan around 1 a.m. when she saw a black man walking down the road. She said she slowed down. She said he opened her truck door, got in and put a knife to her throat. She said he told her to give him her money. She said she didn't have any. He told her to pull down a path next to a barn and reached into her pocket and took $21 out of it. They struggled. She said he fondled her, and she got out of the truck. They struggled. She got back into the truck. He got back in and asked her where she was going. She said she was going home. On the way to her house, she said, he jumped out of the truck.
She said she did not know him, but she has seen him walking the streets of Eureka. The report was filed at 4 p.m. Saturday.
Attacked by dog
DeWayne O. Mitchell, 17, of Park Avenue, was treated and released at Wayne Memorial Hospital after a dog attacked him. He told Goldsboro police he was walking down the sidewalk at Daisy and Holly streets when a brown and white dog came out of a fence and bit him on the leg.
Terrorized
A LaGrange woman said a man shot out the back passenger window of her car, causing $250 damage, while she and her son were in it.
Marilyn Arline Hamilton, 49, of Martin Luther King Drive in LaGrange told Goldsboro police she and her son were in the parking lot of the 100 block of Courtyard Circle Friday afternoon. She said the man approached the car with a handgun and told her son to step out of the vehicle. He refused. She said the man shot at the ground close to the tires and then shot out the back passenger window.
Threatened in spray paint
The mother of a 13-year-old reported threatening statements were spray painted on a vacant mobile home on Durwood Drive in Pikeville with "RIP" and her son's name on it.
Suzanne Pagitt of Falcon Drive said she is in fear for her son's life. She gave Wayne County sheriff's investigators the names of four juveniles who she believes threatened her son.
Missing
Wayne County sheriff's officers are looking for two people:
*Kamiyla Faatima Lofton, 17, of Brentwood Drive, Dudley, is missing. Her mother, Marie Lofton, said Friday she went to school Thursday and failed to return home. She is described as 5 feet
5 inches tall, weighing 154 pounds, of medium build and with brown shoulder length hair. She has brown eyes, a heart-shaped tattoo on her right shoulder and a scar on her left wrist.
*Milton Wade, 56, of Genoa Road, Dudley, is missing. Thelma Wade, 45, of the same address, said Friday he left after an argument and did not show up for work the next day.
Investigations
The Goldsboro Police Department is investigating the following crimes:
*Victor Devon Ingram, 35, of Jake Drive in Dudley, was listed in stable condition at Wayne Memorial Hospital Saturday night. He told investigators he was shot at the corner of Seymour Drive and Rosewood Road. Police have a suspect, but no arrest had been made Saturday night.
*Police are investigating the larceny of $1,200 worth of power tools from Johnson-Russell Construction Co. at 1505 N. U.S. 117 Bypass. Various tools were reported taken from the work vehicle without permission.
The Wayne County Sheriff's Office is investigating the following crimes:
*Mally Mae Brown of Hide Away Circle in Dudley said someone did $260 worth of damage to a window, the aluminum siding and a storm door to her home by throwing bricks at it. She said she thinks it was a group of juveniles.
*A passing motorist reported seeing two men in their 20s standing inside the EMS Building at 134 Sleepy Creek Road. Angel Maddux of Kuwicki Road in Pikeville said she turned around after seeing the bay door up and the two men standing inside. When she got there, she said they got into a 1975 Ford pickup truck and left going east on Sleepy Creek Road. The report said nothing appeared missing. The men were described as black, and one looked to be about 195 pounds, the other about 230 pounds.
*Somebody did $1,700 worth of damage by knocking holes in the sheet rock, pulling a light fixture from the ceiling, damaging the kitchen bar and pulling a thermostat out of the wall at a residence on Sommerset Drive. There was no sign of forced entry. Tonna Lea Lowe of Town and Country GMAC at 706 N. Berkeley Blvd. told investigators she found the door unlocked to the house, which is owned by Christopher Patrick O'Brien of Winchester, Tenn.
*Vera Wright Moore's 1997 Ford Escort four-door sustained $2,785 worth of damage. Ms. Moore's son, William Wayne Moore, who lives with her at their house in Stantonsburg, said the car was on Apple Tree Creek Road when someone broke out the windshield, dented the hood and trunk lid, doors and quarter panel, flattened the left rear tire and scratched the paint, ripped out the stereo and broke off the antenna. They also removed the car's registration, owner's manual and other personal papers, he said.
Traffic accidents
The Goldsboro Police Department investigated the following traffic accidents that occurred Friday:
*Both drivers were treated and released from Wayne Memorial Hospital after a rear-end collision on U.S. 70 West between U.S. 117 and Florida Street. They were going west. Joseph Lee Smith of Herring Road, LaGrange, said he didn't saw the 1998 Volvo driven by Larry Wayne Gracie of Cary when he ran into the rear of it with his 1997 Toyota. Smith was charged with failure to reduce speed. Damage was $10,000 to the Toyota and $7,000 to the Volvo.
*The driver of one of the cars and her four passengers were treated and released at Wayne Memorial Hospital after a rear-end collision on Ash Street between Jackson Avenue and Pineview Avenue. John Daniel Wooten of Raleigh was charged with failure to reduce speed after the 2002 Chevrolet he was driving ran into the rear of a 1987 Honda driven by Mignon Sherice Cobb of East Lockhaven Drive. Damage was $1,000 to the Chevrolet and $3,000 to the Honda.
