Eureka meeting moved
The Eureka citizens meeting scheduled for Thursday at 6:30 p.m. will be held at the Eureka Fire Department. Residents are invited to discuss the petition to dissolve the town's charter. State Rep. Louis Pate Jr. from District 11 will speak.
'Oz' auditions
Center Stage Theatre will hold two auditions for the play "The Wizard of Oz" from 6 to 8 p.m. in Herman Park Center. The first will be for adults on Monday through Wednesday, Feb. 21-23. The second will be for children ages 5 through 12 and will take place on Tuesday and Wednesday, March 8 and 9.
Production dates are April 29 through May 1 and May 6 through 8.
People who audition should not dress in costume, but should bring a recent photo of themselves. They will learn a piece of music at the audition.

Concert planned
A contemporary Christian music concert will be held on the Wayne Com-munity College campus Friday, Feb. 25, from 7-8:30 p.m.
The public is invited to the free concert in Moffatt Auditorium, which will feature the band Steadfast and guests. Donations will be accepted at the door, which will go toward scholarships, special projects and general funds. For more information, contact club adviser Duane Everhart at 735-5151.
Mount Olive Jaycees
The Mount Olive Jaycees will hold its 54th annual Distinguished Service Award Banquet on Thursday, Feb. 24, at 6:30 p.m. at the Southern Wayne Country Club.
This annual event recognizes seven individuals who have given to the Mount Olive community.
Millie Ferrell, the 2004 DSA recipient, will recognize this year's DSA winner. Cost is $15 per person, payable at the door. People can pay in advance by contacting Julie Beck or Karen Bass at 919-658-2502.
Johnny Bullins, former operations manager at Boling Furniture and a current motivational speaker for Bullins Training & Development, will be the keynote speaker.
Bloodmobile
The Wayne County Chapter of the American Red Cross will hold a blood drive Thursday from 2:30 to 7 p.m. at Oak Forest Road Church of Christ. Donors will receive a coupon for a free car wash.
Valentine sale successful
More than $1,300 was raised for several charities last week during a Valentine sale at Meadow Lane Elementary School.
Four multiage classes, plus parents and staff made 1,500 cards and also sold candy and other Valentine items. Proceeds will be donated to the American Red Cross Tsunami Disaster Relief Fund, the Avery Hackett Goldsboro School of Ballet Scholarship Fund, and the Shriner's Burn Center.
Tops in sales
A Goldsboro Girl Scout is the top cookie salesman for the Council of Coastal Carolina this year.
Tiffany Burden, 15, a student at Goldsboro High School, is a member of Goldsboro Troop 1. She has sold more than 2,100 boxes of cookies to raise money for the organization. She is the daughter of Terry and Vernita Burden and is involved in the Goldsboro High band and several sports teams.
The goal of the council, which covers 25 counties, is to sell 85,000 cases of cookies during its annual campaign. About 7,000 cases have been ordered for Wayne County.
People who have not been contacted by a Scout about buying cookies may call Deborah Brady at the Girl Scout office at 734-6231 extension 116.
