In preparation for Read Across America Day that will be observed on March 2, the Sylvan Learning Center and the Wayne County Partnership for Children want to give every child in the local community a book.
Toni Frana, the center director for Sylvan, said more than 1,000 books were given away last year and that she hopes to match or exceed that goal this year.
The book drive will run through the month of February, with donations presented to needy child care facilities in Wayne County.
People who wish to help are asked to bring new or slightly-used books to the Sylvan Learning Center at 206 N. Spence Avenue or to the partnership office at 800 N. William Street.
