Coming home
Several hundred airmen and a group of F-15E Strike Eagles will be returning to Seymour Johnson Air Force Base next week from deployment overseas, the Air Force has announced.
The airmen have been supporting Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom. Their tour was extended to provide support for the recent elections in Iraq.
The Air Force has not yet announcd the day and time of arrival.
Girl Scouts invitation
Today's Girl Scouts do more than "cookies, crafts and camping," and they're inviting the public to come see what they're doing now.
A short informational session and light meal will be held at noon Wednesday at the Girl Scout Service Center, 108 E. Lockhaven Drive. Participants will not be asked to volunteer or give money.
Spokesman Deborah Brady says the Girl Scout Council of Coastal Carolina, based in Goldsboro, just wants to show people the opportunities afforded to the girls as they're taken past the first "three C's."

Livestock meeting
The 57th annual meeting of the Wayne County Livestock Development Association will be held Monday, Feb. 14, at the Wayne Center.
The meeting, which will begin at 7 p.m., will feature a review of the past year and a look ahead at 2005. Scholarships will be awarded, and an award will be presented to the outstanding livestock producer.
Youth to build a house
Habitat for Humanity of Goldsboro and Wayne County will hold a meeting for people in Wayne County from ages 5 through 25 for a "youth build."
The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. on Feb. 21 in the First Baptist Church, 125 S. John St., to plan the youth build. The youth build will consist of the entire group raising money, and those ages 16 through 25 building the house.
The group will be called Junior Habitat. They will be encouraged learn about Habitat for Humanity's Youth United program and discover ways in which young people can get involved in fundraising and other support activities for the 2005-2006 youth-sponsored build in Wayne County.
