Four hurt

in wrecks

Four people were injured and damages were estimated at $16,200 Tuesday in four traffic collisions in Goldsboro, police reported.

*A driver was injured in a two-vehicle collision at 4:51 p.m. Tuesday at East Ash and North Herman streets, Goldsboro police said. Ronald Lee Hagans, 52, of Central Heights Road was treated and released from Wayne Memorial Hospital, a spokeswoman said. The other driver, W. Harrell Everett Jr., 70, of South Claiborne Street, was charged with a safe-movement violation. The report said Harrell's westbound car collided with Hagans' northbound van. Damages were set at $4,000.

*Two people were injured in a two-car crash at 2:25 p.m. Tuesday at North William and Beech streets, police said. One driver, James Gilbert Jones, 84, and his passenger, Dorothy Jones, 71, both of Atlantic Avenue, were released after emergency-room treatment. An eastbound auto driven by Sammie R. Lamb, 74, of Pineland Drive collided with Jones' northbound car, police said. No charges were filed. Both drivers said they had the green light. Damages were put at $3,700.

*A driver from Goldsboro was injured in a two-car wreck at 3:20 p.m. Tuesday on Wayne Memorial Drive near Lockhaven Drive, police said. Betty E. Holland, 46, of Saddlewood Drive was released after emergency-room treatment. She also was charged with failure to reduce speed after the rear-end wreck. The other driver was identified as Karen W. Peralta, 48, of Maplewood Drive. Damages were fixed at $3,500.

*Damages were estimated at $5,000 in a two-car collision at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday at North Berkeley Boulevard and Cashwell Drive, police said. One motorist, Michael B. Grantham, 40, of Fairview Circle, was charged with a stoplight violation. The report said Grantham's westbound car collided with a northbound auto driven by Sarah Price Roberts, 23, of Friendship Church Road, Faison.

Investigations

Wayne County sheriff's deputies are investigating these reports:

*Two DVD players, a speaker and a video cassette recorder were stolen Tuesday from a home in the 500 block of Morgan Trace Lane, sheriff's deputies said. The thieves had damaged a door to get inside. The resident, Thomas Martin Casey, estimated the value of the stolen property at $200 and damage at $550.

*Jewelry and a combination VCR-DVD player were stolen Tuesday after a door was damaged at a home in the 200 block of Brandy Drive, deputies said. The resident, M.C. DeLeon, estimated the value of the stolen property at $545 and damage at $100.

Thefts

Goldsboro police are investigating these reports:

*Pipe fittings, tools and a car battery were stolen between Jan. 16 and Tuesday after a car window was smashed in the 200 block of Linwood Avenue, police said. The owner and resident, B.A. Anderson, estimated the stolen property's value at $370 and damage at $237.

*A radio was stolen between Monday and Tuesday after a car window was shattered in the 100 block of Piedmont Airlines Road, police said. The resident, Curtis William Dougherty, put a $150 value on the radio and set damage at $150.

*An unknown amount of money was stolen between Monday and Tuesday after a drink machine was damaged at the Winn Dixie supermarket at 1805 Wayne Memorial Drive, police said. Damage was about $300.

*A black utility trailer was stolen between Saturday and Tuesday from the Seymour Johnson Air Force Base recreation vehicle lot, police said. The owner, Allen Kelly of Goldsboro, said the trailer was worth $3,000.

Missing

Two people have been reported missing to Wayne County authorities.

Delarcus Tirrell Jones

Jones

*Delarcus Tirrell Jones, 31, of 100 E. Branch St., Fremont, was described as black, 5-feet-8 and 195 pounds with long black hair and a dark complexion. When he was seen last at 10 p.m. Jan. 18, he was wearing a gray jogging suit and high-top shoes. Anyone with information on his location was asked to call Fremont police at 242-5151 or 738-3041.

*Isiah Jacobs, 12, of 411 Lynn Ave. was described as black, 4-feet-11 and 105 pounds with black hair, brown eyes and a dark complexion. When he was seen last at 4:10 p.m. Tuesday, he was wearing a white shirt, blue jeans and blue shoes. Anyone with information on his location was asked to call police at 705-6572.
