Armed robbery
A 27-year-old man said he was robbed Sunday night by two armed men at Pikeville-Princeton Road and N.C. 581, according to a Wayne County Sheriff's Office report.
Tremayne Prescott Coley of Four Oaks told deputies that he had left a friend's house in Pikeville at about 10:15 p.m., then stopped at the stop sign and was confronted by two men with a sawed-off shotgun.
The suspects ordered Coley from his car, then frisked him and took a cell phone and $100, the report said.
The suspects were described as black and 6-feet and 6-feet-2, and they wore ski masks and camouflage pants. They fled north on N.C. 581.
Drug charges
Five people have been arrested by Wayne County authorities and charged with felony drug offenses.
Two were arrested Sunday by the Sheriff's Department during a traffic stop in the 4900 block of N.C. 222 West and charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver methamphetamine and manufacturing the drug, and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
Charles Earl Lamb, 43, of N.C. 222 East, Kenly, was placed in the Wayne County Jail in lieu of a $10,000 secured bond. Timothy D. Rains, 39, of Old Smithfield Road was jailed in lieu of a $5,000 secured bond.
Thomas Earl Southerland, 50, and Linda Faye Jones, 40, were arrested Friday by the Goldsboro-Wayne County Drug Squad at their home on Parkstown Road. They were charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine and maintaining a dwelling for the purpose of keeping or selling cocaine.
Southerland also was charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He was jailed in lieu of a $100,000 secured bond. Ms. Jones was jailed in lieu of a $20,000 secured bond.
Holly Carroll Sutton, 20, of Rosedale Avenue, LaGrange, was arrested Saturday night by Goldsboro police in Berkeley Park and charged with possession of cocaine and misdemeanor possession of marijuana. She was jailed in lieu of a $2,000 secured bond.
DWIs
Both drivers were charged with driving while impaired after a two-vehicle collision at 1 p.m. Saturday at Eason and South Slocumb streets, Goldsboro police said.
Theodore Roosevelt Hart Jr., 46, of Fairview Circle also was charged with a safe-movement violation and driving while his license was revoked. Lorne Dennis Edwards, 40, of Whitfield Drive also was charged with driving while his license was revoked.
The report said Hart had stopped at the stop sign on Eason Street and then turned right onto South Slocumb Street. The pickup that he was driving collided with the southbound car that Edwards was driving. The car then ran off the right side and damaged steps at a home at 701 S. Slocumb St.
Edwards was injured in the collision. He was treated and released from Wayne Memorial Hospital, a spokeswoman said.
Damages were estimated at $3,000 to the vehicles and $200 to the steps.
Meanwhile, damages were estimated at $5,000 in a two-car crash at 6:47 p.m. Saturday at Royall Avenue and North Park Drive, police said. Frank Gregory, 85, of South Lee Drive, was charged with a safe-movement violation. Police said Gregory had stopped at the stop sign, then started a right turn, crossed the center line and collided with an eastbound auto driven by James Earl Saunders Jr., 31, of Woodrose Avenue.
Vehicles stolen
A man was robbed of his moped early Sunday by several men in a car on Royall Avenue near Sunburst Drive, according to a Goldsboro police report. Kevin Craig Smith, 36, of Goldsboro told officers that the suspects stopped in a sedan, hollered at him and asked directions to Snow Hill. A passenger got out, displayed a handgun, demanded the moped and drove it east. The car fled west. The silver moped was valued at $2,247.
In other vehicle thefts:
*A light blue, four-door 1996 Oldsmobile Ciera was stolen between Friday and Saturday from the 1100 block of Park Avenue, police said. The owner, A.W. Rose, refused to give a man money at her door and then discovered that her car keys were missing. Ronald Edward Pigg, 35, Evergreen Avenue was arrested by Wayne County sheriff's deputies and charged with felony vehicle larceny. He was placed in the Wayne County Jail in lieu of a $3,000 secured bond.
*A woman said she fell asleep Saturday in her apartment on Rudolph Street and several guests took her boyfriend's keys and his black 1997 Ford Explorer, police said. Amanda Burden said the thieves also took her $450. The vehicle, owned by Jonathan Holycross, was valued at $6,500.
*A silver, four-door Chevrolet Malibu was stolen Sunday from the 900 block of Fairview Circle, police said. The driver and resident, Lakeisha Renee Moore, said she may have left the key inside. The car, owned by Jackie's Used Cars of Goldsboro, was valued at $5,000.
Investigations
Goldsboro police are investigating these reports:
*A display case with about 600 jewelry items worth $1 each was stolen Sunday after a door glass was smashed at the Perfect Dollar Store at 1503-C Wayne Memorial Drive. The case was worth $30, and damage was set at $500.
*A thief stole a woman's purse with a wallet, $123 and other items on Friday as she walked from her car to Berkeley Mall. Dorothy Whaley of Goldsboro said the suspect was black, about 22 years old and 5-feet-5. He wore a green and gray hat and fled in a two-door car.
*Two pallets of yellow electrical wire and a pallet of white electrical wire were stolen Saturday from a construction site at 108 Fallen Blvd. The property, owned by A.D. Toler Electric Co. of Willow Springs, was valued at $10,000.
*A leather jacket, 15 compact discs and a face plate were stolen Sunday after a car window was smashed and the radio and console were damaged, police said. Larry Leroy McCant of Dudley put a $500 value on the stolen property and set damage to the radio and console at $400. Damage to the car, owned by Bertha Lee Hardy of Goldsboro, was estimated at $100.
*Two people reported vehicle break-ins Saturday in a parking lot in the 100 block of North Berkeley Boulevard, police reported. Jimmy Edward Hill of Goldsboro said his compact disc player and a cell phone were stolen after a lock was damaged. Hill of Goldsboro, put a $275 value on the stolen property and set damage at $100. Cassie Thomas of Goldsboro reported the theft of a compact disc player after her vehicle window was broken at the same place. The player was worth $200, and damage was set at $200.
*A compact disc player and three speakers were stolen Saturday after a windshield was shattered in a car in the 900 block of North Spence Avenue, police said. The owner and driver, Timothy Lamont Thompson of Goldsboro, estimated the stolen property's value at more than $88. No damage estimate was listed.
*A shotgun was stolen between Friday and Saturday after a truck window was smashed in the 200 block of West Lockhaven Drive, police said. The driver and resident, Michael Robert Smith, said the firearm was worth $171 and set damage at $150.
*A .38 caliber handgun and a leather holster were stolen between Thursday and Friday after a door glass was shattered at a home in the 100 block of Patetown Road, police said. The property was valued at $325. Damage was fixed at $75 at the Lyle Spidle home.
*A white gold diamond wedding ring was stolen between Thursday and Friday from Nina's Hair Express at 205 S. Berkeley Blvd., police said. Vencia Raynor of Dudley said her ring was valued at $1,700.
Thefts
Wayne County sheriff's deputies are investigating these reports:
*A black, four-door 2001 Dodge Durango and a .25 caliber handgun were stolen between Thursday and Friday from Suggs Auto Sales at 4685 U.S. 117 North, Pikeville, sheriff's deputies said. The thief had damaged a door to get inside and then stole the vehicle keys and a license plate. The vehicle was valued at $14,000, and the other property was worth $320. Damage was set at $102.
*About 100 NASCAR signature cards, a Bobby Labonte coat, six Air Force metals, 20 compact discs, women's clothes, medicine and $200 were stolen between Jan. 13 and Sunday from a home in the 200 block of Mobile Circle, deputies said. The resident, D.K. Kurtz, estimated the value of the stolen property at more than $2,453.
*Four 17-inch chrome rims for a car were stolen after a shed door was damaged in the 100 block of Pine Tree Lane near Dudley, deputies said. The resident, Junior Ray Matthews, put an $800 value on the rims and set damage at $150.
