Watson joins Mount Olive College business faculty

MOUNT OLIVE -- Kerr F. Watson has joined Mount Olive College as chairman of management and human resources.

Watson, a Winston Salem native, earned his bachelor of science degree in chemistry and mathematics from Greensboro College, his masters degree in business administration from East Tennessee State University and his doctorate from the University of Tennessee.

"My goal is to bring a vision, a collegiality and a work ethic to the college which will enable Mount Olive College to have the best undergraduate business school in North Carolina," he says. "Mount Olive College offers a tremendous opportunity to work in a community of like-minded scholars, walk down paths not yet traveled, make friends with people not yet met and accomplish unfulfilled dreams."

Watson has served as dean for the school of business at American InterContinental University in Atlanta, Ga., and as dean for the school of business at Tiffin University in Tiffin, Ohio. He has also served on the faculties of Virginia Intermont College in Bristol, Va,, Tusculum College in Greeneville, Tenn., and Western Carolina University.

Watson started Holston Consulting Group in 1991. He is a managing partner.

At Mount Olive College, Watson's job responsibilities will include teaching strategic management, human resource management, marketing, and research methods courses in both traditional programs, modular formats and online.
