Man wounded
A Goldsboro man was shot Monday night as he stood on Sherrod Court near Alabama Avenue, according to a Goldsboro police report.
Deandre Javan McCall, 21, of Sherrod Court was taken to Wayne Memorial Hospital, where he was treated for a leg wound and released, officials said.
McCall told police that a light blue sport utility vehicle rounded the corner at a high speed and someone fired a shot from it. He could not describe the shooter.

Two teen-aged girls who may be together have been reported missing to Goldsboro police.
*Sara Katherine Seamon, 14, was described as white, 5-feet-6 and 210 pounds with brown hair and hazel or blue eyes. She may be wearing a blue and white shirt, blue jeans, white shoes and a gray jacket.
*Amanda Barbour, 15, was described as white, 5-feet-4 and 123 pounds with auburn to brown hair and blue eyes. She may be wearing a black band around her neck, a pink and black shirt, blue jeans, white shoes and a black coat.
Both girls left the county on foot Dec. 11 and have not been seen since. Police said Ms. Seamon may be heading toward Locust in Stanly County or Polkton in Anson County. Ms. Barbour may be going to Johnston County.
Anyone with information on the location of either girl was asked to call police at 705-6572, police Investigator Paige Learnard at 580-4243 or Goldsboro-Wayne County Crime Stoppers at 735-2255.
Eight hurt in wrecks
Eight people were injured and damages were estimated at $39,000 in six recent traffic collisions in Wayne County, officers reported.
*An eastbound driver from Goldsboro was injured in a two-vehicle collision at 11:40 a.m. Monday at East Mulberry and North Lionel streets, Goldsboro police said. Cleveland Carlisle Wilkins II, 41, of South Hillcrest Drive was treated and released from Wayne Memorial Hospital, a spokeswoman said. A southbound motorist, Cory Earl Oates, 36, of Pecan Lane, Faison, was charged with a stop-sign violation. Damages were fixed at $4,700.
*Damages were estimated at $6,500 in a two-vehicle crash at 12:10 p.m. Monday on South George Street near Crump Street, police said. One driver leaving a parking lot, Dae Sup Kim, 59, of Raleigh, was charged with a safe-movement violation. The other driver, Lila H. Wells, 84, of Rose Street, was going north.
*Two passengers were injured in a one-car wreck at 9:20 p.m. Sunday on Indian Springs Road near Eagles Nest Road, the Highway Patrol said. Rahean Robinson, 17, of Hillsboro Street, Mount Olive, and Willie Worrells, 33, of Indian Springs Road, Seven Springs, were released after emergency-room treatment. The car ran off the right side after passing another car, then careened across the road off the left side, struck a mail box and overturned, troopers said. The driver fled. The car was registered to Charlie Robinson of East Hillsboro Street, Mount Olive, the report said. Damages were estimated at $4,100.
*Three people were injured in a two-car collision at 5:20 p.m. Friday on U.S. 117 Alternate near Brook Terrace Road, the Highway Patrol said. One driver, Joyce Verlene Gardner, 46, and her passengers, Ronnie Gardner, 39, and Virginia Russell, 18, all of Brewington Road, Dudley, were released after emergency-room treatment. The other motorist, Christopher Edward Ward, 23, of Mobile Circle, Dudley, was charged with failure to reduce speed after the rear-end collision. Damages were set at $3,500.
*A pedestrian was struck at 1 p.m. Thursday by the side mirror of a car on U.S. 13 near Artis Road, the Highway Patrol said. Antonio Dontay Spruill, 20, of U.S. 13 North, was released after emergency-room treatment. He was walking south in the southbound lane and was charged with a pedestrian violation. The driver, George Joseph Jr., 54, of Salem Church Road, was charged with failure to use safety when passing a pedestrian. Damage to the car was put at $200.
*A driver was injured at 10:50 a.m. Thursday, when the truck that he was driving ran off the right side of U.S. 117 near O'Berry Road and overturned, the Highway Patrol said. Dave Debushere Jones, 32, of Smithfield was released after emergency-room treatment. No charges were filed. Damage was put at $20,000 to the LaSalle Leasing Co. truck from Elkhart, Ind.
Doll House break-in
The Doll House, an alleged house of prostitution that has been shut down by a court order, was broken into over the New Year's weekend, the Wayne County Sheriff's Office reported.
A cattle prod, a compact disc player and about $170 were stolen between Thursday and Monday. The thief had damaged a door to get inside. The missing property was valued at $125. Damage was set at $100.
A television also was reported stolen earlier, just after the business was closed.
The Sheriff's Office and the District Attorney's Office had filed a civil nuisance abatement lawsuit against the business at 6208 U.S. 70 East and then obtained a temporary restraining order to shut it down because of illegal activities. Later a temporary injunction was granted in Wayne County Superior Court to close it. A hearing to make the injunction permanent will be held later.
Thefts
A computer work station, a television, a video cassette recorder and $30 were stolen between Thursday and Monday from the Wayne County Health Department at 301 N. Herman St., Goldsboro police said.
The thief had smashed several windows to get inside, inflicting about $1,500 in damages.
The stolen property was valued at $2,432. Another work station, valued at $2,045, also was stolen but was recovered, the report said.
Police also are investigating these reports:
*Computer equipment was stolen between Friday and Monday after a door was damaged at Wayne Uplift Resource Association at 1906 Edgerton St., police said. The missing property was valued at $2,000. Damage was set at $100.
*About $3,000 in damages was inflicted on a van, owned by Skill Creation Inc. at 1109 Royall Ave., police said. Two side windows, the windshield, a side and the wheelchair lift were damaged.
*Video-game equipment and $5 were stolen Monday after a window was shattered at an apartment in the 600 block of Park Avenue, police said. The resident, Robert Craig Herring, estimated the stolen property's value at $200 and damage at $100.
*A Bombardier four-wheeler was stolen between Saturday and Monday from Performance East Inc. at 1306 W. Grantham St., police said. The vehicle was valued at $6,000.
Investigations
Wayne County sheriff's deputies are investigating these reports:
*About 100 calling cards and $50 were stolen between Sunday and Monday from Tienda Hispana Gaby at 1322 N. Breazeale Ave., Mount Olive, sheriff's deputies said. The thief had smashed a side window to enter the store. The cards were valued at $500, and damage was set at $200.
*A gunshot on Monday damaged two doors and a chair in a home in the 300 block of Lees Country Club Road, deputies said. The resident, J.A. Armstrong, estimated damage at $195.
Missing
A 60-year-old man was reported missing Monday by relatives to Wayne County Sheriff's Office. Larry Elmer Beasley of 3710 Emmaus Church Road was described as white, 5-feet and 110 pounds with gray hair and hazel eyes.
When Beasley was seen last at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, he was wearing khaki pants, a navy shirt and white tennis shoes. He may be driving a burgundy 1988 Buick Lesabre. Anyone with information on his location was asked to call the Sheriff's Office at 731-1481.
Fraud
A 33-year-old man has been arrested by the Wayne County Sheriff's Office and charged with one felony count of forgery and uttering.
Randy Todd Bill of U.S. 70 West was placed in the Wayne County Jail in lieu of a $6,000 secured bond.
