Money keeps coming in for Empty Stocking Fund party

"Tiny tots with their eyes all aglow will find it hard to sleep tonight. They know that Santa's on his way ... " to the annual Empty Stocking Fund Party.
Santa and the children will be guests at the party Saturday that is paid for by a caring community. The party will be at the United Artists Theater on Berkeley Boulevard starting at 8 a.m.
Volunteers will meet this afternoon at the Elks Lodge to stuff 610 stockings to the brim with fruit, nuts and candy.
Sears will deliver brightly wrapped boxes of new clothes on Saturday morning. Pepsi will unload the cases of drinks it is donating.
A display of the new toys will put a gleam in the children's eyes.
Almost Amazing Rex, from Balloons and Clowns, and Ricky Rat, from Rikki Rattz Pizza Station, will be there to make them laugh.
Members of Goldsboro Woman's Club and the Continental Society, along with volunteers from the News-Argus, will coordinate the activities and provide supervision.
However, none of it would happen without the unselfish giving that has been a tradition in Wayne County for 92 years.
