KINSTON -- The N.C. Global TransPark's airport terminal will be the site of new jet service between Kinston and Atlanta beginning April 1, according to an announcement made today by Delta Airlines.
Initial plans call for three incoming and three outgoing flights daily from the GTP/Kinston Regional Jetport.
All flights will connect with Atlanta and will be flown by 40-passenger regional jets operated by Delta Connection carrier Atlantic Southeast Airlines.
"We certainly congratulate the Lenoir Committee of 100 for their great work in pursuing the Delta service successfully. The Air Service Committee in particular has done a great job and deserves all our thanks," said GTP Executive Director Darlene Waddell.
The Committee of 100 has agreed to provide up to $200,000 to be used by Delta Airlines for marketing and related costs associated with the new jet service.
