Wayne County public schools will hold two holiday concerts this year to accommodate the crowds.
Performances will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 30, and Thursday, Dec. 2, both at Dillard Middle School at 7 p.m.
The choral showcase, which began last year with 12 schools participating, has expanded to 19 schools.
Kenneth Morris, lead music teacher for the school system, said the showcase offers a unique opportunity for each school to showcase the talents and work of its chorus.
Tuesday's performance will feature the choruses from Spring Creek Elementary, Spring Creek High, Meadow Lane Elementary, Greenwood Middle, Eastern Wayne Elementary, Eastern Wayne Middle, Eastern Wayne High, Carver Elementary, Mount Olive Middle, Grantham, and Southern Wayne High schools.
The performance on Thursday will feature the choruses from Carver Heights Elementary, Fremont STARS, Northeast Elementary, Northwest Elementary, Norwayne Middle, C.B. Aycock High, Rosewood Elementary, and Rosewood High schools.
Admission is $5 for each person. Children under 5 years old are admitted free. Proceeds will be divided among the music programs of the participating schools.
