Store robbed
A Goldsboro gas station was robbed Wednesday night by a lone gunman of an undetermined amount of money, according to a Goldsboro police report.
A clerk at the Spur station at 301 W. Grantham St. told police that a black man entered the store at 10:25 p.m. and demanded money. He never displayed a weapon but kept a hand in his sweatshirt, pretending that he had one, the report said.
The suspect also wore a dark pants. No other description was available.
Home burglarized
An elderly woman says two men broke into her home on Poplar Street before dawn today, demanded money and rummaged through drawers, a Goldsboro police report said.
The intruders had broken a window to get inside and then stole two $1 bills, police said. Damage was set at $50 to the window.
Wayne County law-enforcement officers also are investigating these reports:
*Shellac was poured on property in a rental storage locker, inflicting an estimated $2,410 in damages, Goldsboro police said. The renter, L.K. Adams of Goldsboro, reported damage to clothing, crystal glassware, chinaware, porcelain dolls and other items.
*A yellow and white 1978 Chevrolet Cheyenne pickup truck was stolen between Tuesday and Wednesday from an apartment parking lot at 508 E. Walnut St., police said. The owner and resident, James Eli Murphy, put a $1,000 value on the truck.
*A coin collection was stolen Wednesday after a door was damaged at an apartment in the 300 block of Parkstown Road, sheriff's deputies said. The resident, G.O. Creech, said the coins were worth $5 and set damage at $20.
