Missoula brings old favorite to life

Audiences of all ages will get a fresh look at an old favorite Saturday when Missoula Children's Theatre and 59 Wayne County students present "Beauty Lou and the Country Beast: A Sagebrush Fairy Tale."

"Beauty Lou and the Country Beast" will be presented at 7 p.m. at the Paramount Theatre, 127 S. Center St., Goldsboro. Tickets are $8 and are available at the Arts Council of Wayne County and at the door.

Featured as Beauty will be Marisa Linton and Ashley Davis.

Beauty's sisters will be played by Elizabeth West, Shelby Hall, Brandy Keaton, Anica Midthun, Madeline Edwards and Mikayla Huf and by Alli Midthun, Kalyn George, Bianca Sutton, Tiffany Gall, Hailey Schmick, and Diamond Thompson.

Imaginary Friend will be played by Shelton Carter.

Beast will be played by Hannah West Dusty, and Slim the helpful farm hands will be played by Matt Ardis and Arik Dunlow.

Faithful friend Fleabite Clyde, the dog, will be played by Dylan Cuddington. Buckaroo Bob will be played by MCT Tour actor and director James Scotland.

Hoping to win enough money to save the family farm, Buckaroo Bob sets off for the rodeo where he is joined by the rest of the Country Folk: Rose Karr, Grace Tackett, Alec Linton, Shelby Sullivan, Collin Childers, Ashtan Farmer, Dylan Atwood, Alexandra Farfour, and Caroline Farfour.

He will also be joined by Barnyard Critters, played by Madison Eddy, Sidney Cox, Kyla Sanderson, Elizabeth Vaughn, Asia Jones, Clair Quinn, Heather Pickel, Sara Letchworth, Ty West, Michael DeFazio, Christopher Finch, Craig Woodland, Megan Delaney, Christian Nelson, Madison Huf, Hayes Gerrard, Micah Sherard, Stephen Finch, Ali DeFazio, Michael Wells, Matthew Wells, Cara Volkert-Marshburn, Marina Lucero, Bianca Hernandez, Kiera Bridget, Travis Cuddington, and Claudia Thompson.

Tiffany Breindel, Colbie Underwood, Patryce Pounds and Paige Nelson have served as assistant directors throughout the week.
