A 26-year-old Goldsboro man was murdered early Sunday outside of a night club, and Goldsboro police have issued an arrest warrant.

The victim, Corey Lavon Grantham of 2079 Nor-Am Road, Pikeville, was fatally shot at about 3 a.m. outside of Club Paradise at 800 Corporate Drive.

Police have charged 27-year-old Leandren Andre Wilson of North Kornegay Street with the crime.

A hired security guard told police that he had heard gunshots from the west side of the club, then responded, saw a crowd gather near the body and called police.

The first officer to arrive, Thomas Cook, secured the scene and called for assistance.

Grantham's body was found on Clingman Street, about a block away.

After interviewing "a bunch of people" at the club, police identified Wilson as the suspect. He was described as being 5-feet-5 and 170 pounds. Police said Wilson should be considered armed and dangerous.

Police Maj. Jay Memmelaar did not reveal a motive for the shooting.

Investigator W.P. Van Wijk was assigned to the case. Special Agents John Rea, Barbara Lewis and Pat Matthews of the State Bureau of Investigation are assisting.

Anyone with information on Wilson's location was asked to call Van Wijk at 580-4203 or 705-6572 or Goldsboro-Wayne County Crime Stoppers at 735-2255. Callers may remain anonymous. They may be eligible for a cash reward, if their information leads to an arrest.

After the shooting, two other people were arrested. Neither was involved directly with the murder, police said. But both were charged with assaulting police officers.

Julius Isidore Reid, 20, of Beech Street was charged with possession of a stolen firearm, discharge of a weapon in the city, assault on a law-enforcement officer, assault with a deadly weapon and resisting arrest. He was placed in the Wayne County Jail in lieu of a $10,000 secured bond.

Andrea Wallace Devaugn, 26, of Workman Street was charged with two counts each of assault on a law-enforcement officer and resisting arrest and one count each of intoxicated and disruptive behavior, disorderly conduct and communicating threats. He was jailed in lieu of a $5,000 secured bond.
