Rosewood High School students have placed first in a statewide Future Business Leaders of America competition held in Greensboro.
The club's debate team brought home the first-place trophy after participating in the state competition. Team members are Erin Gamble, Stacy Ellis and Regina Everett. In addition, Ty Johnson placed second in the state in the business law category.
Cathy Best is the faculty adviser for the club.
Winning the state competition and placing second qualifies Rosewood High's FBLA team to compete in the national finals scheduled for July in Colorado.
"We congratulate these Rosewood High students for placing so high in state competitions and wish them the best of luck at nationals," said Stan Alleyne, the school system's public relations officer. "These students are representing Wayne County public schools very well, and I commend them."
