Fish dinner

The Knights of Columbus annual family fish fry dinner will be held Friday.

The dinners will be sold from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. in St. Mary School auditorium at the corner of Edgerton Street and Jefferson Avenue.

The cost of the dinner is $6 with children 5 and under $3; eat in or take-out. The St. Mary Ladies Guild will also have desserts for sale.

State ag board

to meet next week

The N.C. Board of Agriculture will hold a business meeting in Goldsboro next week.

The meeting was originally scheduled for Feb. 27, but was postponed due to a winter storm. It will be held on Wednesday, March 31.

The board will meet at Cherry Research Farm and members will tour the farm and learn about its programs. It will then conduct its business meeting. The agenda will include the adoption of federal rules regarding substances that are prohibited in animal feed.

The board is a policy-making body that adopts regulations for many of the programs administered by the N.C. Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. Its 10 members are appointed by the governor.

Men needed

Center Stage Theatre is seeking additional male cast members, ages 18 and up, for its upcoming production of "The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas."

They will be asked to sing and dance in the play. Interested people can show up for rehearsals tonight or Thursday night at 7 at Herman Park Center or call director Craig Millard at 778-7300. Performance dates are May 6 through 9 at the Paramount Theatre.

Bloodmobile

The Wayne County Chapter of the American Red Cross will have a Bloodmobile on Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Charles B. Aycock High School for faculty and students. Donors will receive a free T-shirt.
