Thief has takeout
from restaurant
When a thief went to a fast-food restaurant in Goldsboro, he ordered a $250 take-out when no one was looking.
Goldsboro police reported that the thief moved a roof air-conditioner, entered through the vent, shimmied down a power cord and stole the cash from Aggie's Steak Subs at 212 W. Ash St.
The thief then used the store's tools to remove the bolts to the take-out window and fled, police said. Damage was estimated at $100.

damaged by fire
The hot-doughnut sign was on earlier today at the Krispy Kreme shop at 2601 E. Ash St.
Before dawn, a deep fryer overheated, caught fire and damaged the restaurant. The building's automatic sprinkler system put out the fire, a Goldsboro fire official said.
Damage to the building was put at $400. But a preliminary damage estimate to the deep fryer and the conveyor belt was set at $20,000, Assistant Goldsboro Fire Chief Ray Boyette said.
"An employee heard the grease popping once the fryer got hot," Boyette said. "Then when she noticed it was on fire, she got outside."
No one was injured.
"When we first got there, it looked a lot worse than it was," with flames showing, said Boyette. "We established water supply lines, prepared for the worst and hoped for the best. They radioed back that they didn't need a water supply."
Firefighters put out the remaining fire with extinguishers.
Fourteen firefighters answered the 2:01 a.m. call with three engines, a ladder truck and a command car. They needed about 20 minutes to put out the fire and remained for more than another hour to investigate the cause and finish salvage work. Rescue personnel also responded.
The building was valued at $400,000 and the contents were valued at $600,000, Boyette said.
Kitchen fire
Unattended cooking was blamed for a kitchen fire Tuesday at 705 Third St., a Goldsboro fire official said.
The resident, David Robinson, had seen the fire and then had torn off the hood on the stove and had thrown it outside, Fire Lt. Wade Johnson said. Robinson's quick response had put out the fire.
When firefighters arrived, they found the kitchen splattered with grease. A cabinet was removed, and Johnson said they made sure the fire had not spread to the attic. Damage was estimated at $1,000.
Pedestrian injured
One person was injured and damages were estimated at $13,200 in three recent traffic collisions in Wayne County, officers reported.
*A pedestrian was struck by a Goldsboro-Wayne Transportation Authority van at 6:52 a.m. Tuesday in the parking lot at 210 Dixie Trail, Goldsboro police said. Willie Henry Miller, 60, of Beulaville was treated and released from Wayne Memorial Hospital. The van driver, Argusten Darden Gurney, 56, of Devereaux Street, was not charged. The van sustained about $200 in damages.
*Damages were estimated at $5,000 in a two-vehicle collision at 8:45 p.m. Tuesday at North Spence Avenue and a ramp to Dr. M.L. King Jr. Expressway, the U.S. 70 bypass, police said. One driver, Maria Del Carmon, 20, of Dudley, was charged with a yield violation after she had started a left turn and the car that she was driving collided with an oncoming northbound sport utility vehicle. The other motorist was identified as Gregory Paul Thering, 22, of N.C. 111 North, Pikeville.
*Damages were estimated at $8,000 in a two-vehicle crash at 11:29 a.m. March 3 at N.C. 55 and Grantham School Road, the Highway Patrol said. One driver, Lucio Hernandez Aguilar, 42, of Godwin, was charged with a stop-sign violation. Troopers said Aguilar's northbound auto collided with an eastbound pickup driven by Allen Lee Girardeau, 45, of Hope Mills.
Drug, gun charges
A 26-year-old man from Sanford was arrested Tuesday night by Goldsboro police on North George Street and charged with felony drug and firearms violations.
Adrian Jerome Womack was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana and possession of a stolen handgun. He also was charged with possession of a concealed weapon, driving while his license was revoked and speeding. He was placed in the Wayne County Jail in lieu of a $7,000 secured bond.
Investigations
Wayne County law-enforcement officers are investigating these reports:
*A television and a microwave oven were stolen and an entertainment center was damaged between Feb. 19 and Tuesday after a door was forced open at a home in the 100 block of Radford Drive, sheriff's deputies said. The resident, O.W. Wright, estimated the stolen property's value at $220 and damage at $700.
*About $480 was stolen between Monday and Tuesday after a window was smashed in a home in the 300 block of South Drive, Goldsboro police said. The resident, Robert Lee Parker, set damage at $50.
Missing
Two teen-agers have been reported missing to the Wayne County Sheriff's Office.
*Keaonda Edmundson, 13, of 302 Arrington Bridge Road was described as black, 5-feet-1 and 95 pounds with black hair in a side ponytail and brown eyes. When she was seen last at 2:25 p.m. Monday, she was wearing a red jacket and blue jeans.
*Travis Devon Graham, 17, of 203 Everittsville Road, Dudley, was described as black, 4-feet-11 and 110 pounds with a small build, black hair and brown eyes. He was seen last at 8 a.m. Friday. No clothing description was available.
Anyone with information on the location of either person was asked to call the Sheriff's Office at 731-1481.
