Student talent will be showcased in The Apollo Show at Wayne Community College on Thursday. The public is invited to the show at 2 p.m. in Moffatt Auditorium on campus. Admission is $1.
The program is modeled on the amateur night shows at the Apollo Theatre in Harlem. Organizers expect it to run an hour and consist mostly of musical acts. Winning performances, determined by a three-judge panel, will be awarded cash prizes.
WCC's Multi-Cultural Association for Enrichment is sponsoring the event.
"This is our 14th year and it has always been a successful event," said Janice Fields, WCC minority affairs counselor, and "just a fun thing to do."
