Muslim ban: Trump hints at going forward with ban on Muslim immigrants

President-elect Donald Trump has indicated he might continue to push for a ban on Muslim immigrants to this country following a terrorist attack in Germany.

We hope he thinks long and hard about the proposal before implementing it, if he is considering doing so.

Trump said Wednesday such attacks as the one in Berlin on Monday must be stopped and added that he has been proved right in his assessment of the danger of allowing immigrants from countries linked to terrorism to enter the United States.

He stopped short of saying he would push for the ban, but his language left the campaign promise open.

We have said in the past that we do not agree with the idea of banning all Muslims simply because of their faith. That is un-American. But he is right that more vetting must be done before allowing immigrants to come to this country.
