Invasive species: National politicians put eastern N.C. on the map

There is an invasive species threatening eastern North Carolina. The good news is that the creatures will soon be gone.

This part of the country has been invaded recently by every politician you can name, from Hillary Clinton to Donald Trump, from their running mates and family members to the current president, Barack Obama.

All are trying to convince us to vote one way or another in the coming election.

Their visits are much appreciated. We aren't used to so much attention. We just hope they don't forget this part of the state when they take office.

And we'll be glad when colder weather comes and they go back into hibernation.
