Vote: Even though you might not like choices, exercise your right

The election, mercifully, is only two days away and although many people have already voted there are many who haven't and who, given the choices in the presidential race, are leaning toward not voting at all.

They would be wrong.

For hundreds of years, America has depended on Election Day as a way to reset the nation's course. It is the nation's litmus test, our way of having a say in our government. Nothing is more important to democracy than having people cast their ballots.

Don't be one of those people who sit at home and then complain about the government for the next four years. That is the coward's way out. Stand up and take a stand. Sure, you might not like the choices at the top of the ticket but there are many other races further down that are important, too. From local school board members to judges, they deserve your consideration as well.

This is how our country has become the model for the rest of the world, by our ability to choose our leaders at the ballot box. America will survive whoever becomes president. There is only so much damage any one person can do in the job, given our system of checks and balances.

So don't just sit there and gripe. Think hard, pray, and then go do your duty.
