Who won? That depends mostly on who you were pulling for

Who won the much ballyhooed debate Monday night between Republican Donald Trump and Democrat Hillary Clinton?

The answer depends largely on who you were pulling for in the first place.

Both candidates scored their points.

She was obviously well prepared and made hay out of several of his statements, putting him on the defensive on a number of occasions, especially when he criticized her for spending so much time getting ready for the face-off.

He, on the other hand, portrayed her as just another smooth-talking politician who looks good at the podium but will actually do nothing when the time comes to act on the things she talks about.

The debate never got out of hand, but there was sharp criticism leveled by both participants, with Trump often talking over her answers to the moderator's questions.

Did the debate sway any voters? Not really, we think. Clinton might have picked up a few undecideds, but not enough, we believe, to break open a close race.
